Default How bad is traction with 400-450 WHP on 16's?

Currently rocking my stock block LS/VTEC with a T3/T67 at 6 safe PSI, but I'm going to be doing the built motor deal in the spring or summer. In the meantime, I have a hankering for some Rota GT3's. Don't like the looks of the 15" ones so much, but I think the 16's look splendid. With an ultimate goal of 400-450 WHP on pump gas, how much more am I going to roast 16" GT3's with some sticky tires like azenis or parada spec 2's than I would with my 15" blades with some cheap pep boys radials? Is your 400 WHP car still fun on 16's, or do you spin like a mother anywhere anytime now?

Ummmmmmmmmmm.................

I don't think it matter what kind of tires you get, unless you're talking about slicks. You're not going to have any traction at all for 2 gears. If you really get 400 WHP you won't have much for traction in 3rd either. Just get the wheels you want. Bling is bling.

You really don't think it's going to make much of a difference? I drove my bro's car with 440 WHP on 15" slips + azenis, and it would spin if you just go WOT in the first few gears, but I didn't find it too hard to drive without spinning hard. I'm just worried about them spinning so hard once boost hits that the motor will bog down and fall out of boost I guess.

First 2 gears? I barely get grip through 2nd right now with 270whp. I imagine that you would spin right through third too. Watch the video of itr206's 350whp on the street, he is running street tires

My car right now makes 450whp I have 16" wheels, azenis in a hatch with the same turbo that your using.

The car starts spinning at 6k in 3rd gear with 18psi in the tires.

Go with the 15's and some bfg's for a street car.

EDIT: I forgot to mension that my car has a Quaife LSD

Yea, you are going to have to go with some bfg's or something of that nature, I have a turboed D and it spins through second pretty hard, without having a built motor. I have 16" niche's and Kuhmo 711. I know they aren't very good, thats why they spin.. haha

Put your stock suspension back on....the body rock will absorb all that inertia and voila...no wheel spin.

with 225/50-15 BF gforce drag radials and with 404(Dynojet)wHP so high 300real wHP i easily boiled the tires up through 3rd and if was cool out at night like 60degrees fourth would spin also.
