Will an IAT sensor make your RPMs surge?
This is my main question, will an IAT sensor malfunction do this or is there something more to this that sucking up water through my intake caused.
I hit a large puddle and sucked up a ton of water. Hydrolocked the motor, threw a rod and replaced the longblock. My car ran perfect before the mishap, so it must be a sensor fouled up somewhere. My computer is no help though, it keeps reading 10.

What would most likeley be damaged due to water passing through when my intake sucked up water?
Also it only surges when I give it gas, not at idle
Yes hydrolock
I can only post five messages as a trial user, heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!!!
Fuel filter should be fine, no water could've got in there. Will put in new plugs, check the TPS, and cap and rotor. Maybe it could be one of those but it's weird, only when I give it gas does it do that. When I rev past the point of it surging into the higher rpms it goes away.

hydrolock..not good seen one break a rod.it sounds like your icv is acting up. but it would only do it at ideal.are you getting a check engine light? also check your fuel filter.
ok sorry didnt see the check light code ten. did you put in new plugs? also if you are running apc plug wires they have a tendency to go bad after a while.cheap crap sucks.look at your cap and rotor button to see if they are rusty.also your throttle postion sensor couldhave gotten wet.

I fuigured it out. Really stupid. I switched the connectors for the IAT and the IACV sensors. I didn't even know they were the same until I did a lot of reading on the honda-acura.org archives. You would think that the engineers at honda would change the plugs slightley so that wouldn't be an issue. On every other fuel injection harness I've ever delt with no connecter is the same. Oh well, live and learn. Car seems to be running fine now.
I did that one time when i was swapping IM... Took me weeks, no, months to figure that shyt out... I thought it was my IACV... I felt like an airhead when i figured the plugs were crossed....
The problem is still there somewhat. I need to know the colors of the wires going to each connector. That would give me some peace of mind.
