Barking second is nothing, third is hard. Low thread wear can cause you to bark more. Just dont mess up your synchros when you do miss a gear.

Ditto. I have a feeling you'll be parting ways with your clutch soon...

*smacks head* somehow I had a feeling a Trial User posted this. If I were you I would change that sig, cuz you're probably not going to get much respect around here w/ a sig like that (f*** the police for one, bomz coilovers, and you're getting headers?).

I tried powershifting at the track in my old car once, destroyed the 2nd gear synchro.

And I highly doubt you chirped 2nd powershifting, especially not on a stock clutch. If you did, you probably weren't actually powershifting.

umm it's probably just ur tires. I was able to chirp 2nd like a bitch and once and a while i would spin a little, but then i got new tires that stick and now i very rarely chirp. the whole chriping thing is overrated.

Why wouldnt he spin 2nd? I spin and get wheel hop for a few seconds when i powershift into 2nd and im stock other than i/h/e.

Also why is everyone saying its bad on the transmission and engine if you do it correctly. I only powershift when Im racing and Im already at the rev limiter when im shifting so whats the harm in tapping the rev limiter for 1 millisecond when i push the clutch in. And how it any harder on the transmission when it is not any worse than a mild launch.

And the proper way to powershift is to not let off the gas, push in the clutch just enough to let you shift and let off the clutch while going into the higher gear all quickly.

all this in what, a 16 sec. pass. and no matter how fast you shift, i highly doubt bouncing off the rev-limiter in your stock integra is gonna yield you any better times, seeing as how your motor doesn't even make power that high in the rpm range.

so to recap, you rev the hell out of your stock daily driven car, leave it floored(WOT) and tap the clutch(putting it in nuetral and skyrocketting the rpm's), shift into the next gear, and repeat. this is probably the best/easiest way to ruin your syncros, if that's what you're into!

i don't get the joy in powershifting. i knew some guy that could do it perfectly every time, just using a little clutch, not completely disregarding it. it was cool i guess. wouldn't let him do it in my car though, that's for sure. he did it for a couple years with no problems, but that's what you get when you autoX all the freaking time. i don't like to beat up on my tranny/clutch personally. i'd rather take the time to shift like a normal person. it's only like a quarter second, maybe a third if you're not really fast. why don't you try not spinning the tires so you're not wasting your power. remember, wheelspin = "you coulda been goin faster, jack." anyways, i have a funny problem with my clutch. it's stock. i make 154whp. i can smoke my CLUTCH launching at 2500rpm. hehe. yup, i have to shift nicely or i think my clutch might take a trip to the underworld and never come back.

I can agree with that.

Power shifting, launching at redline, the kind of things you do when you have money to be buying new engines/transmissions.
