sorry i searched but does anyone know the diff between the premier and the normal pioneer decks, is there something i should know?

 

premier is the slightly more upscale division of pioneer
Different styling, sometimes higher pre-out voltage, more display settings

 

as well as better warranty

 

Think of it like the difference between honda/acura. Same basic stuff on the inside, but the premier has better specs/warenty.

 

I have had both (similar models), and the differences are not noticable IMHO. Get whatever is cheaper (9 times out of 10, the Premier is more expensive). It is my understanding that most of the time the specs are the same (or nearly the same), but the Premier has a better warranty - all else is equal as far as I know (or have been able to tell).

 

In the case of:

860mp premier vs 8600:

6.5v preouts vs 4v
2 year warranty vs 1 year
Some people believe the fit/finish/build is slightly better though I cannot tell unless you consider the Premier logo on the face-plate.

I think the price difference is negligible, I'd go for the premier.
