crv awd or 4wd?
ive been looking and cant find out if the crv 97-01 is awd or 4wd. it looks like you can't lock the diffs. do they have any traction control or lsds? im in the market for one and trying to see which one is best for me.
It's a 4wd system. Primarily, it is FWD and the 4wd system transfers power to the rear when there is traction loss. You cannot lock the rear differential either. I would recommend http://www.hondasuv.com for more info.
The CR-V has something called "Real-Time AWD", where in, it's primarily a FWD but when the going gets tough, the power is transferred to the real wheels. Similar to TCS, but maybe not as effective.

Yea, just don't dump the clutch in the 5 sp 4wd in the snow...there's a slight delay before the clutch pack in the rear diff kicks in, and it will bring the rear end out pretty quick...kind of fun when you know to expect it, but kind of not the first time it happens.

check the crv forums and/or local junkyards
sure they aren't too hard to source since MOST people looking for the crv engines are looking for exactly that.... just the engine
