Ok looks like I'll be going to EM/DM What do you suggest?
Ok thanks to the info in my other posts. It looks like I'll be going to DM/EM.
First I I read the rules I would not be competate in DM because of the 1000 Lb MIN rule. Yes or NO? EM is 2000CC and over with a weight of 1500, I can get closer to 1500 than 1000.
So if I do go to EM what is the set up you all would recommend?
Engine? Supercharged?(is this allowed?)
Shocks? Springs?
Bars?
anything else?
I plan to build it over the winter for next year.
Thanks
Glenn
Sorry I have a gutted 88 Civic 4 Door

whatever you want, it's your car.
the reason i say that is because it's NEVER going to be competitive if it stays even remotely a street car.
why are you in EM and not SM?

This is just a car to race. The car is gutted with no heater. I would have to install a heater and interior for SM. The car runs in EP now.
I will trailer it to the course. Not worried about being very streetable.

build a tube frame that will still allow a modified civic body to fit over it, and put a built K series in it, and make it 1501 lbs on the SCCA scales and go win.
it'll be too heavy and big for DM, IMO.

Well, first you need to figure out what you want to do with it before you go asking these kinds of questions.
-Do you want to be nationally competitive in your class? If that is the case, you are definitely going down the wrong path.
-Do you want to just have a car you can have fun with, and don't care about the competition? Do whatever, it is your money.
-Do you want to be in a class with a competitive car? Dump the car and pick out a class like GS or STS where it takes relatively little modifications to run, but most importantly, allows you to develop as a driver.
I would go with suggestion #3.

If by play we mean knife-fight in a telephone booth... the Mini duo does not mess around!
Did you get rid of the Miata? That could be a really really fun STS2 car... Though that Civic looks like fun, wasn't Jason winning EP with it pretty consistently locally?

Sold the Miata and purchased Jasons car. My 94 is not SCCA legal for ST2.
At this point I think that I'm going to install a D16A6 engine and upgrade the suspenion, staying in EP.
