Default 4th gen prelude rear speaker install

well just got some new 6 1/2's to replace the flappy oem's. and well i went at it like it was a direct replacement. well the trunk bars get in the way. magnets are too long and hit the bars....anyone find a good solution to this problem?? pics are always good! thanks for any help

You have two choices:

1) Make a mounting ring that'll raise the speakers an inch or so off the deck. Or angled towards the front, so that the magnets clear the trunk bar.

2) Remove trunk bars and mount the speakers flush. Install prop up struts on the trunk to open the trunk lid (like on 5th Gen Accords). You'll need a hefty sized one too, since the trunk lid is like 50 lbs, especially if you have a spoiler.

*edit*

Option 3) Get low profile speakers that'll fit without going through all this trouble!
