How's the theft rate with preludes?
I've been looking for 95-98 240sx with a stick and am having no luck. I am a big fan of hondas but I can't get an integra or civic because it's ridiculous how many of them get stolen. I'm thinking a lude would be a good choice if it doesn't get stolen a lot because I like them and it'll keep me in the honda family. I'm thinking 5th gen, and possibly a 4th gen vtec. I'll be under my parents insurance and they really cannot afford to have another car stolen. Thanks

it's not that bad. people get their ludes stolen sometimes, but it's def not as rampant as it is for ITR's or EK si's.
Its not bad at all. ITRs get stolen like friggin hot cakes. same with other tegs and civics. Its very rare to have someone make a post about their stolen lude. I think most lude owners, eaither;
A. Have riced out their car so bad, no one would even think about stealing it.
B. Have a garage and never park outside.
I used to park mine in my complex till i moved a ton of **** in the garage and made enough room for 2 cars. Now shes a garage *****, only time shes outside is when im at work and even then, shes practically parked in the warehouse.

mine was stolen about 6 months ago, 98 base. when the police found it ,it had no hood, fenders, bumper or headlights. i just resently put an alarm on it. haven't had any problems yet.
wth are you guys talking about, lol....compared to other cars preludes are a hot ticket. First, hondas are the most widly stolen cars, and second...preludes arent made anymore.
I would suggest calling an insurance company, or looking on the internet....you will get a more exact answer other than, "Yeah, ludes get stolen, but sometimes they dont, but then sometimes they do "

OK, so yeah, there were more civics stolen, but there were a hell of a lot more of them made.
integras have about the same theft rate as civics...which is about double of a prelude.
I am not trying to lead you away from a prelude, i am just saying, if you are super worried about getting your car jacked, call an insurance company, and find out, or buy a pinto.

I think i was just trying to fool myself into thinking a prelude was a safe honda, i know it's safer relative to a civic or teg but it's not good enough. Thanks for the help

Have you considered using autotrader instead of a stick?
I only know of one 5th gen that got broken into while parked at a tuner shop over the weekend, but I don't know that they're that much more ripe for the picking.

My friend from high school had his ITR stolen a long time ago when they first came out, and only the spoiler got stolen, then it was found driven in a creek, real talk. What dumb idiots would do that. I dunno tho, I think someone from school just hated on him, he does act like hes hard core all the time.
buy a dsm, i have never in 3 years on over 4 different eclipse websites seen a post about one being stolen. thats the upside to have a "girl car" that makes over 200whp stock

except for a new timing belt my heavily modified eclipse hasnt broken down once. you just have to be sure you buy one that isnt beat to ****. if you know what you are doing and what to look for they are reliable cars.

Well, you haven't really experienced the true DSM experience (AWD).

ummm ... it depends on who is trying to steal it and what you have on it basicly, but the prelude ignition is kinda gay because you can start it with any key .... i have a prelude and I can start it with my bro's ek key and my sisters old integra key. Not too much peolpe steal preludes tho so you should be good to go

most poeple wouldnt go through the trouble to take a motor because of the serial number on it, and no 1 wants a stolen motor in their car.
