Default HELP Me identify my clutch configuration.

Ok, I'm a newbie to the ZC world, so be patient. I currently own an 89 Si HB which I got really cheap a few months ago. I love to car, although I needed more power. The person who had it before me blew the Si trans, so it has a DX trans right now. Well get this, I was at the junkyard 2 weeks ago, and found a wrecked CRX HF, with a ZC Engine in it. I didn't know what trans it had, but I took a chance and bought it anyways with the trans. After some investigation I found out it was an Si Transmission, whoooooooohooooooooo. So.......... Question is. I dont' know what year the trans is, I don't know what flywheel the motor has. How do I go about figuring out what Clutch I need for this bad boy??? I've read mention of splines or something between the years. Any info would be awsome, BTW I got the complete ZC motor and Si trans for $220

i THINK the way it works is, D TRans, to d block, b trans to b block. The only diffrence in splines, what ur thinking, is the Axle splines. If thats a problem, get the SI Axles. But, fly wheel and cutchs Are all the same.

On this part of the tranny on the tip of the shaft,
*if there is no markings, the tranny's an '88 and you would use clutch and flywheel from an '88.
*if the shaft has 1 notch, its an '89 and you can use clutch andflywheel from an '89
*if the shaft has 2 notches on it it is from a 90/91 and you use the flywheel and clutch from a 90/91

Thats what I was told, besides counting the number of splines. I tried it and it is true.

1988 trans: 190mm flywheel and clutch (21 splines)
1989 trans: 200mm flywheel and clutch (20 splines)
1990/91 trans: 212mm flywheel and clutch (20 splines)

WRONG!!!!!!! '88's have a smaller flywheel and you can mix and match those, read above post.

Awsome, thanks for the info!!! Just to understand you correctly, you mean look for markings on the input shaft of the trans right?? I'll take a look tonight.
