tranny whine noise in 99 gsr

tranny whine noise in 99 gsr
my buddy has a 99 GSR 51,xxx in all gears get up to decent speed and let off and just bearly push on accelurater and whines like a mother any ideas please help

this is an old post, but im having the exact problem in my car now. my whining isnt THAT loud, but its noticible. does anyone know what part of the tranny is going bad and what needs to be replaced?
