GEAR OIL

what gear oil do you guys use or recommend? what weight?

If you have a helical lsd or any grind issues, i'd say go with GM Synchromesh Friction Modified. You can order it online for around $5.50 a quart.

I didn't have any grinding issues, but I switched to GM Synchromesh FM about 25K miles ago, shifts are like butta! 180K on my tranny currently.

I assume you are talking about oil for use with an LSD???

Anyway, I have a B16 tranny with a Kaaz LSD.

I use:
1qt: Redline 75W90 Friction Modified,
Remainder: Honda MTF

This mixture has worked great for me:
Slips when it should.
Grips when it should.
No synchro issues.
