Default skunk 2 mani on b18b(now my car runs like garbage )????

so i put the skunk 2 intake manifold on my car and also an iceman intake (cai) at the same time .

now ever since i put the two on the motor the motor runs like crap , i lost throttle resp. and accel.

has anyone else had this problem , ???????/
i have intake, fuel rail , 4-1 headers full exaust , ported throttle body , fpr, and ecu... car ran awesome before and i can't belive that i would loose power and resp. from an upgrade like this ....

i'm interested to hear sugg. or prev. exp. if any has any to offfer

thanks

if you installed it correctly your car should run fine.... mine did

theres an extra tiny vacuum port on the back, dont forget to plug that....

use a vacuum guage to read your vacuum at idle, should be at -22mm/hg

if you have any way to measure a/f ratio (even a cheasy a/f guage will work) see what your idling at, make sure your not super rich or super lean....

btw my car ran better i would say with this manifold after i installed it on a bone stock b18b... i have now had it on 2 b20's... the before and after was basically before i couldnt chirp second.. after i could (again bone stock b18b)

right , right , ....

i've been builing motors for a while so i know iut is installed correctly , and i mean the car idles fine , and i deff. gained in top end , but low end is sluggish and not nearly as responsive as it was with the stock intake mani. i know that they are not designed to give low end power and are really for cars with cam's (which i am lacking) but i just don't understand why i would gain top end and loose bottom end.

but thank you for input

Mine runs fine w/ Skunk2, but I also have cams, pistons, 64mm TB and a "Modified" Iceman intake! Hope you find what is wrong! My guess would be the install too, however it could be other things involved that you overlooked!

My skunk2 sucked when I first got it and I had to drill the holes bigger so it would fit on the head! How did yours fit, it may not be torqued down all the way! Double check it!

it doesn't go with your engine package...

I would suggest double checking your FPR to make sure it is seeing full vacuum at idle/part throttle and that the diaphragm is not messed up

what happens is that, since you now have a much bigger manifold, you loose some of the low end torque because the volume of air takes longer to get into the engine, that theory applies to the CAI... if you put a shortram on it, your throttle response should jump back up. However, the high end should make up for this

oh boy, not even close....

it does shift your TQ curve up though... stock LS exhaust/header will really kill any top end that you gain with a skunk2 mani. im pretty sure theres more info bout the LS version on team-integra.net btw

However he has a 4-1 exhaust manifold and full exhaust, so I dont think that that is his problem!!!

UPDATE!!!!!!

after tinkering around with a couple of ideas , i found that bumping my fuel pressure to 53 psi and running a short ram 3' intake with hks mega flow filter has solved the problem , very good throttle resp. and smooth accel. through the rpm range ....

thanks again for all the input

Glad you got it fixed!

Might want to turn down the Fuel pressure though, 53psi is high!!
