What do you mean can't wait for the DC5R... its already here... Except we get the non lsd, non hid, "Where the missing 10hp?" rsx with the re-designed body.. its the 05 type S. And if you look at the a-spec kit it give the R appearance but lacks the power.
Don't hold your breath. It was a far and high maybe back in 04. Then we all got wind of the new re-designed rsx and bam. No more hope for the DC5R. Sorry

I think we have more chances of getting the CTR than the ITR.... Acura is all about luxury now... and the ITR = no creature comforts....
The only way we'll get the ITR is if it comes over badged as a Honda and is sold at Honda dealerships as an Integra.... while the Acura badged DC5 is sold as an RSX. Then it would be the same exact relationship as the Honda Passport was to the older model Isuzu Rodeo.

like it was said before the 05 rsx with the a-spec package is as close as we will get. It lacks power and even with the a-spec(which
is better suspension body kit a-spec badges
titanium shift **** and 17 inch rims with nice
rubber it still far from an R dc 2 or dc5. also
with that a-spec and labor your close to $30K

If Honda of America is to stupid to see the popularity of the DC2R then that is there own damn fault. By not bringing over the DC5R they are merely setting themselves up to biting the hand that feeds them. Which is you and me.
People who have been loyal to the Honda marque are seeking other companies such as Subaru and Mitsubishi because these guys are smart enough to realize that there are people in the U.S. that don't want to drive **** box commuters or S.U.V's and are starving for something performance oriented.

Too stupid? The DC2R's sat on the dealership in late 98, late 00 and most of 01. They were running incredible lease deals just to move them. What makes you think the DC5R would sell so well after the first few who wanted them got them?
Is it worth it to Honda to pass all of the crash tests, emissions laws, etc just to bring over another car with no a/c, or a bloated DC5R that's been "Americanized"? That might work for companies such as Mitsu. who have the EVO as theor marquee vehicle, but Honda still has the NSX and S2000 for those who want a higher performance level.
The New Type S is a LSD, Mugen Sport Suspension and Hondata flash away from a DC5R. Go build one yourself if you want--it's easy and pretty cheap to do.

Both supra and skyline will be available by that time.
Skyline will be in my consideration.

What Honda/Acura are more into these days are what cars can they sell a lot of and how can they maximize profit. Even though we love our cars, Honda/Acura probably sees them as more of a pain with a lower profit margin than an SUV or something else. The dealers also want something they can turn around quickly and make some good money on. I still remember one of the dealers I tried to buy an R from that wanted 3 grand over sticker that I told what part of my anatomy they could kiss, calling me 4 or 5 months later hoping to seel me a car they still had in stock. By that time I already bought a car from another dealer under sticker. I know certain areas of the country had no problem getting rid of all there cars while some were slower. Plus with all the increased competition out there from the WRX, EVO, and R32, I doubt we'll ever see a DC5R. Please don't get me wrong, I would love to see the DC5R come here and I would consider replacing my R with it, but this is how I think Honda/Acura is probably looking at it.

Personally, I think Honda of America is waiting... waiting for the right R to bring over.
The current "integra", or "RSX" or whatever you want to call it... is just a stepping stone to the NEXT generation.
<-- Saving his pennies for the NEXT R

my biggest thing is, i like the whole R thing
I like the interior, speical shift ****, valve cover.. I like all the stupid accents..
i wonder if id be worth it to import one over in a couple of years..
probadly not!!
the new dc5 is SWEET, it looks awesome.. i just wish they had a fking R package for it.

I think it would be worth it to honda to bring it over.. Look at the cars that are coming up now. SRT neon, evo, sti. Cars like this.. honda has nothing that can compare to those cars. What about that piece of the market? is it not large enough to make enough money?
