Default 02 civic new block

My daily driver is an auto 02 civic LX.. and while it is great on gas it is a total dog..
I want some more power under the hood, and im not really interested in doing a turbo blower or engine swap.. what im looking to do is increase displament and get a bigger cam and get the heads ported. I need to be pointed in the right direction. what should I do..

So you don't want it fast but you want to bore, stroke, cam it and do major headwork? Jesus, dude, you haven't been around Hondas long enough to know what you're looking to spend and how little you'll get for the $$$. If this was a mustang you'd be set with those cheap mods, but:

A.) there are no stroker kits for the D17 in the newer Civics
B.) cam choices are really limited
C.) headwork is expensive and ill-advised and
D.) allmotor power from these engines in the hardest and most expensive of all possible routes.

Do some more research before you determine what you "want to do".
