i usually thought that too... but i saw them on a car with some body work and them on and it looked nice... I just got a JDM Mugen "style" front lip that'll be on once i get the motor done and i plan on doing a 5 lug conversion and getting some rims, i think it'll look good...that's why i inquired 
P.S.- i'm willingly admitting that the lip is definately not Mugen but for the look and the price it was worth it....aside from the fact that i just like the look.
