Default 2001 Type SH

So,

I have a lead on a 01 SH...electron blue pearl, 59K

bascially my dream car that I never thought I'd get a chance to own.

Should I be concerned about the ATTS? and what is a good price to pay on the car assuming its top notch?

If I cant get this then I'm looking for an ultra clean 3rd gen w/ 4WS to replace my old totaled 3rd gen. any leads on one of those in so cal?

thanks in advance.

Main point of this car will be autoX...I think the 3rd gen w/ 4WS would kill a 5th gen in that dept.

BUT I've always wanted a ebp SH and happened to come across one while looking...so why not.

is there detailed proof of this?

I've hunting for documentation and of course all i can is 4th and 5th gen.

well i hate 4th gens, and cant fid teh info i want on 3rd and 5th. Ive only owned a 3rd gen Si and never had teh pleasure of driving a 4WS model to compare. and i havent driven a 5th gen in YEARS.

3rd gen 4WS is awesome. My buddy did a 2WS to 4WS swap, and the handling on it is absolutely unbelievable. No matter how good the 5th gen could handle, it's still a 3,000 pig. Find a 4WS locally and test drive it. Then imagine suspension work being done, it out handles a bunch of cars on the road today.

Trying to find one in good condition is proving difficult. I went to look at one today....horrible.

I dont think ill ever find a 3rd gen that was in as perfect shape as mine had been.

They are a rare gem, that is for sure. Took me a while to find mine, but man it was a steal when I bought it. I wish it was 4WS, but oh well -- conversion isn't that hard.

IMO, if you are asking between a 5th or 3rd, I would look at your finances. Personally, I'd much rather have money for other things every month and also to mod the car. After all, IMO, a cleanly done up 3rd gen will look nicer than a stock 5th gen.

my dream car was always an electron blue pearl 5th gen.

money is not the issue.

If money is not an issue, then get the 5th gen. The only reason why someone should consider a 3rd gen is if... they can't afford a newer car. Want better handling than the other generations. Or don't want a payment for a car. It's very rare to have a rich man buy a 3rd gen and dump 20 grand into it.

Send me an IM or catch me on AIM under LowFlyinSH.

I've been autoXing and tracking my '01 SH for over 2 years now.

I have pics, times, and current standings of my local regions and tracks.

I would def. go for the 5th gen. It looks sexier, and the ATTS will kick *** in Auto-x. I think that there are also more aftermarket parts made for the 5th gen. Good Luck Bro.

with that mileage from a dealership im willing to say 16K is what they are going to hit you for. Maybe asking more but talk them down. I thought you meant private party before, sorry.

Supposidly stock for stock, an SH can out handle an ITR. I havent personally done this test, but hey. lol good luck

Not rying to flame you, but I have an article Lude SH vs. ITR, and the ITR did better because it was much liter and quicker side to side than the LUDE. I know it sucks, I wish my lude would be the best handling FWD in the world. Then again, it might be when I actually put my TEINs in. LOL HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

SH ludes are never going to be cheap are always more the the S/base. for an 01 as mentioned earlier will go for about 16k. There typically are not problems with ATTS, it is rare that the unit goes out unless you take the car off roading or sit and spin your tires like a mad man on ice.
