Burns Stainless S2000 R & D Turbo/SC Header Development project
UPDATE
So we got the motor on the dyno today and fired her up made sure evryhting is good for tomorrow for the base tune and setup. No leaks all good to go

This is the best way to get constant comparative back to back R & D results!!!!!!
We here at Burns Stainless are nearing the beggining of our upcoming research and development project!
Whats does this R & D project entail you ask?
The purpose of this R & D project, is to establish relationships in header design on highly devloped 4 valve engines.
Well we choose the most highly developed 4 valve we could think of (exlcuding completed race motors) the f20C.
We will be taking our f20C dyno flog engine and developing a complete header from start to finish for the supercharged application.
We will also be doing the same on the f20C with a turbo charger as well.
Why you ask we offer an exclusive header design service that we have devloped in house. We want to make this program even better we have designed headers for over 1850 Race engines! with more then 99.9% success rate.
So why bother? So we can make this exclusive service that we offer to you guys even better!!!
We will also be exploring
Waste gate positioning and sizing
Stepped turbo headers
Tuned length turbo headers
Small vrs large.
and on and on and on we have a lot of work to do so stay tuned.
If you have any exhaust related stuff you think would be a good thing for us to try please let us know we are always open to suggestions!
By the way testing will be done on a DTS engine dyno with datalogging EGT and complete pressure readings taken on every pass.
Thanks for your time
Casey

A affordable N/A header that actually makes power on the F20C would be nice. Most header that makes power for the s2k cost 1000+, the others are ****.
sweet... if you can make power with that header, ill bet many will be in for it. Kinda like Kamikazi did for the Jackson Racing SC.... make it good for boost and only boost, so long as it works

That is also somehting we have considered, the problem with that being is that the facotry header is no joke! Honda reallly did there homework on that one but it is something we are defintley looking at

We plan to make power and lots of it! i know alot of s2000 guys are supercharged so it will defintley be a good thing!

What about something for the F22C (I believe that is the name of the 2004 engine). Do you think greater gains could be had with that engine or do you think they would stay the same?
I think the gains would be close to the same we have put thought into the f22c and we may source a engine from somehwere. For now our target is the f20

Burns stainless have some great stuff, we buy a lot of our manifold piping from them. they have the best stainless piping and the best collector!, i can't wait to check out those turbo manifold and the header for the s2k.
Sorry NO time for RESIZE Maybe tomorrow
Engine with super charger installed

Engine Rear Shot

The Cast MAnifold of DOOOM we are talking some serious turbo spooling horsepower here

Quick plate i Fabbed up to mount the cooler, pump, and resevoir

Finally cause i was bored my tool box weee

I really want to see your header that has made 17 more hp than the stock system. On the F20C, I would have to say that is nearly impossible, hell even on a B series you wont see those gains. I couldnt find it on your site, its more of a sales site than anything, post up your dyno and a pic of it please. Even Amuse or toda or spoon couldnt extract 17 hp from our header.
The problem why nobody's header makes anymore then 5 is because the factory header is already very close to perfect. It's an amazing piece of engineering the whole engine is honda hit the nail on the head this time ask any profressional reputable race engine builder what they think of the motor you will only hear good things
Randy your a nice guy and this post isnt about our header anyways or your header for that matter but till i see it in person on an independent engine dyno i dont especially believe it either
This post is about a R & D project results will be published and the truth will be told no matter how muhc people don't want to hear it

are you going to be selling the cast iron turbo manifolds? if so how much?
Costa Mesa
You guys are close to me too.

No unfortunatley we don't belive that a cast iron manifold is the proper way to do things however you can accquire them through turbobetics for a fair price.
We simply have it as an A-B-C- and maybe D comparison piece

what boost was you running with the 380 hp at the engine?
If this is with the stock pulley, then it's more consistent with the readings we get in Australia. I don't know how (beside huge correction factors) that some people get 380rwhp.
keep up the good work
this project will have huge potential
you could change and test so many variables like
-custom intake plenum
-oversize valves
-oversize thottle bodies
-water injection effects
-etc etc
