Default grounding wires

first is it true that a grounding wire kit "adds HP" or "makes the car run better"?

i wana redo my ground wires. they look less than in good shape and i know a bad ground can cause headaches. i can get all the pieces for them for cheap at a electronics store. i think the 10 gague is a little small IMO and would like to go bigger. what gague should i use? 8? 6?

4 gauge and yes

HP gains? maybe, but probably not that noticeable. It will run better and when you run electrical things (i.e. headlights, stereos) and you'll get less of a power loss.

Those ebay grounding kits are just 4 and 10 gauge wires with cliphooks on the end cut to the right length. You'll save a ton of money and be able to customize more if you DIY it. I'll post pics of my car's grounding stuff in a little bit.

It also helped my brother does car installations so he had miles of wire and everything i needed

Exactly which wires need to be re-grounded when doing this project. My wires are all goin to hell. I can get all the streetwires products at cost so which ones would you recommend. Which guage and what wire. Sorry, i dont mean to jack the thread.

4 or 2 gauge wire from the battery to frame, and 8 guage for all other major grounds

This mod is way worth it if you make you own kit. I added this and cams to my car and it dropped my time by .8 secs...

I have 4 guage for the battery to chassis, eight for everything else

And we will all agree it was the cam and only the cam that helped.

Yea, don't expect HP gains from this... but it is healthy for the car and anything electrical that runs off the system will take off less from the engine because more electric current will get where it needs to go with less resistance.

However, if you have severe rust and what not on your wires or the casing is destroyed... you may get slightly better performance from replacing it. But, it won't be better than stock, it'll be more of what it was originally.

probably so, but what does it hurt to try? I mean if you make your own kit, its almost free.
