My Teg's MPG is decreasing.
agree...time for a tune up at the 90k interval... time belt/water pump/tensioner also....... my 94ls w/ 85kmi on her gets about 250 mi/tank (mostly) city driving and some hwy driving. if i dont get on it and drive normal, then im up to about 280mi/tank all with 89octane. im bout to do all the major tune up stuff rather shortly. i def advise of it as well.

How big are teg tanks? I get about 220 miles if I fill all the way up... til the low gas light comes on
Can you guys list the things I need to change?

i have 130K+ on my car and i got last about 280 to the tank with 93. I am trying 89 this tank to see what that yields. Mostly city driving, some highway.

Teg tanks are 13.2 gallons. 220 for a full tank is about what I get mostly city driving. While I was driving to Baltimore MD the other day my HW mileage was great was like 150 per half tank.

I have yet to get one and see if it would help.

i usually put in around 10 gallons on fillup and i get 250/260 out of that..so 280 isnt bad..but then again i race thru the gears everyday like no other

Then something is def wrong, GSR suppose to eat more gas since it has vtec..
My engine light came on couple weeks ago, (never came on again) I checkt he ecu, it's code #71... cylinder 1 misfired... So far i haven't done anything to it yet.. I think I am getting new spark plugs this weekend and might as well get new fuel filters at the shop.
Car still runs smooth than ever... (i love integras)

i have a 98 gsr and i get 230 to around 8-8.5 gallons and its consistent because my gas gauge is broken so i fill up every 230ish and it take 8-8.5 to fill up. mainly highway.

Not exactly true. A GS-R will only use more gas if the driver is pushing the car (flooring it) excessively.
With my car, a 2001 2-door GS-R with 52,000 miles, I can get about 36 or 37 m.p.g.
Things to help your gas mileage.
1. Check your spark plugs. Replace if needed.
2. Check your air filter. Replace if needed.
3. Check your fuel filter. Replace if needed.
4. Probably a good time to replace your timing belt.
5. Try driving in the highest gear as possible with out lugging your engine. Example...if you are driving in 4th gear, try driving the car in 5th.
6. Don't floor it everywhere you go...shift around or below (if possible) 3000 r.p.m.
Here is some more help...

Sounds like the O2 sensor to me. Usually when it goes bad, your MPG suffers horribly. Do yuor tune-up and check the O2 sensors voltage to ensure its working correctly.

What is O2 sensor? also, how expensive is it to change OS sensor

i was thinking it could be maybe a super dirty air filter that is restricting air flow into the engine? clean it or get a new air filter.
btw...how the hell do you guys get over 300 mi/tank city driving? you guys **** @ like 2k rpms?

The O2 sensor is the sensor that reads and tells your Ecu how rich and lean to make the car. It is only operable until WOT and then the MAP sensor takes over. Depeneding if you have 0BD1 or OBD2 ecu, depends on the cost and if you need more than one. You can however use a 02 sensor off a 97 civic dx on a obd1 and it will work fine but you have to switch the wires. The civic sensor only costs $35 form any Honda dealer. Most people don't know this but it will definatly work. The average oem replacement O2 sensor will run you $120 for a OBD1 O2 Integra sensor.

I know right... I have an auto, but that doesn't make that big of a difference.
I drive on highway most of the time.
My air filter was changed 10 k miles ago. did it myself.. fuel filter is hard to change. i heard.

fuel filter is definatly not hard to change, just the bottom bolt can be a biyatch to get loose if it has never been loosened before. It takes apprx. 10 minutes tops lol.
Holy ****, i dont know how you guys are getting 300 mpg city. I just went outside and checked my trip odo and i have 188 miles and i am sitting at just under 1/4 tank of gas. I filled it to capacity last time i bought gas. I dont drive very hard and usually shift at around 3k rpm. This is mostly city driving in bad Houston traffic in the mornings and afternoons. This is subpar and i am concerned that i am not getting enough mpg and i would like to do something to help it out. I am gonna check the fuel filter, plugs, wires, air filter. How do I check the O2 sensor to see if it is working good? BTW, the car is an OBD2 2000 LS 5-speed.
