plesae help problems with my CRX
okay i have a 1989 honda CRX Dx...i just put a 1990 Si door on my car.....and now my dash says that my seatbelt light flashes...my door/seatbelt light flashes and it beeps and its annoying its been like this for a month now...i have no clue what it is please help...i have no clue where to go with this
Have you checked the switch in the door jam, perhaps its making intermittent contact? There should be metal switch with a black plastic/rubber cover over part of it that touches the door. If you were viewing from the top of the driver side door jam down, it would look like a "L" that was rotated 180 degrees. As the door closes, it slides the switch circuit open to prevent the light/beep. Its near the door striker...
You can either figure out why it is not making complete contact when the door is closed...OR just unscrew the switch from the unibody (should be 1 phillips head screw) and disconnect one of the wires to the back of the switch, disabling the circuit. You can also wrap some electrical tape around the contact point, you should be able to tell where once you get the switch off.
It is actually #14 in this picture, "SWITCH ASSY., FR. DOOR". #16 is the cover I mentioned and #15 is the one screw you have to undo to get it off:
