calling out all yok es100 owners
ive owned 2 sets.. one on my civic that never went bald.. but i only had them for about 7k. Currently i have a set on my GSR, pretty much brand new, a few months old. They are great, VERY comfortable tires. At first, they are quiet.. but after a few thousand miles you will hear some noise. Great in all conditions.. Although, i have had a set of Falken Ziex before.. I thought those were very nice street tires, def. much more quiet. Go for the Potenza S-03s though.. they are on sale.
tony i know how you drive, those bastards will last 6 months but if you got azenis they would last 4 months!
muuuuahhahahaha.

I have had a set of 195/15/50's for about 8-9K now and still probably have another 20k+ left, paid $50 a piece. Real improvement over all season...MUCH stiffer side walls and handleing. I drive average, and will get around 30k on them. Little noise after break in but nothing above normal. Great buy.
I have a set of es100s now, on my old car I had a set of Ziex ZE-502s....
es100s are far superior tires IMO...
I have a set of allseasons on steelies I got when I bought this car, so hopefully I won't have to worry about the es100s in the snow
I have about 10k on mine and they seem like they have quite a bit of life left to them.

About 7.5-8k to get to the cords on the rear of my E36 M3(245/40-17). Fronts had about 10-12k in them.
They're an alright street tire, but seem to just liquidify at the track. I personally like my Kumho 712's much better than the ES100's, especially for the street. Less noise and very comparable traction with the ES100's having just a hair more(almost imperceptible).

I had a set of 205 40 17's on my teg and they were nosie as all hell. I got rid of them and got khumo 711's and they are much quiter. The es 100's are more sticky and girp better. Also the es 100's look better but the treadwear on the 711's are 340 and the es 100's are 280 so the es 100's have a pretty short life as far as daily driving goes. There are better tires for the money than the es 100's but its up to you man.

haha...they suck in the snow. (like every other summer tire)
It was very scary driving on them even with chains.

do yourself a favor and don't drive in the snow w/ them

There bad in the snow like all summer tires. Sadly though, they actually turned out to be my winter tires because I had the es100's on my stock rims 2 seasons ago ande I bought new rims and tires, and I put my stock rims on in the winter but just never bought winter tires
Sucks but I barely drive my car in the winter anyway. They're not that bad, just drive slow. And dont drive up steep hills

I know people who have used both the Kumho 712's and the ES100's and they all say the ES100's are TONS better, including quieter, than the 712's.
Another friend has 711's and tried on my ES100's back when I was on my previous set (205/50-15) and he didn't want to give them back.
Like everyone else said, they are quiet at first, but do start to get noisy, especially right around 40 mph.
I'm on my 2nd set (205/50 last time, 195/50 this time). My last set lasted me 35K miles, and that's with -2.5 camber in front.
I currently have about 10K on my current set. They are just starting to get noisy, but oh well, wind noise and stereo drowns it out.
And they are AWESOME in the rain
