Default 98 Accord front brakes

My buddy is planning to swap rotors on a 98 Accord V6 coupe tomorrow night. From my previous experiences of working on brakes on other Accords (94 Ex and 00 Lx), the front rotors were pressed on, and I had to take them in to a shop to get the old ones pressed off and new ones pressed on.

Do you have to press the front rotors on and off on a 1998 Accord V6 coupe, or can it be done by hand?

TIA

Nah, 98 and up Accords, all you need is a rubber mallet, bang the old rotors a few times, they'll come off very easily.

or you can thread 2 bolts into the holes (not where the retaining screws were) and tighten them down until the disc is free.

Don't forget that you will need an impact driver to get the set screws out that hold the rotor on. Other wise they won't come off just by banging on them.

They'll come out without air tools and hammers.

On my '95 Accord, I took off the rotors easily just by unscrewing a bunch of bolts. They are not pressed on anything. It is the wheel bearing that requires pressing onto the hub.

he wasn't trying to imply that they are pressed on... it's just that in many cases, the rotors get frozen on there because of heat, rust, etc.
