It is a tad later in the day now so I have to make a post and ask where are the PICS and stories from the NASA NE Watkins Glen HPDE?
I know R Speed was present in #'s and will have great pics!
<--- So Jealous that I could not make it b/c I was OWNED @ Summit....

Messed up the side of his car a little bit.
It was the weekend of the hurricane.
Friday was torrential downpours (and 64 tornadoes, according to the Virginia State Police), but it cleared up to make a really excellent weekend.
Trouble is, a downpour at Summit will fill a hole off of T4 so that it looks like it's pavement, and you can put a wheel off if you're trying to maximise the available road surface.
There is a tiny little paint mark to warn you where most people will want to turn in, but at that point a faster driver is already looking down the chute and in for a bit of a surprise if he puts a wheel off.
Some of this is a gross assumption on my part. I am basing it on a conversation with Steve and then driving a few minutes later to see if I could tell what happened.
