Default PR3 pistons in LSVTEC

I'm just wondering if any people on here are running pr3 pistons in their lsvtec setups. I was told they yield about 11.5:1 compression ratio with an oem 3 layer headgasket and a GSR head, is this true? Could it be more/less?

Also how big of a lift cam are you guys using. Plan on using toda b's and they require a 12 compression to be used to their full potential. Maybe a 1 layer headgasket?

i currently run the pr3's in my ls/vtec i got them .25 over with a gsr head your comp. will be slightly higher than mine i run the b16 and i believe my copm is around 12-1 but i also had a little taken off the head and block but not much

i would also stick with the oem head gasket and i also run the skunk2 stg 2 cams with skunk springs and retainers i ran the stage 1's for the first 7,000 miles or so and they are just fine for that app. i just changed a few things on my set up and needed a more agressive cam (by the way i have the stg 1's for sale and a full set of itr inner and outer springs )just to let you know

^^^ what layer headgasket are you using?

The compression calculator said i have about 11.3:1 compression with an oem 3 layer headgasket so i don't think i'd have more than you would. I also have a stock bore ls block and the head was not milled...

does anyone else also agree that i'd have a compression ratio of 12.1:1 or higher with pr3's and an oem headgasket?

hmm...so with a 2 layer i assume i'd have about 12.0:1 or alil higher

i used the compression calculator but i heard it was a bit off, is that true?

Try its more around 11.8:1 to 11.9:1 CR!

well what can i do to lower my compression? I am looking to use either b16 pistons or type r psitons . What kind of oem pistons should I use? What specific oem head gasket should I use. Everyone says oem 3 layer but where do I get them?

I'm running 12.2:1 with CTRs and a OEM 3 layer.

If you want to lower your compression than you want to use B20 or LS pistons, but why do you want to do that unless you were going turbo!
