Reupholstering Crx seats?
I searched around on this and found nothing. Has anyone taken their roached crx seats and had them redone? if so what did you pay and how do you like them?

Had the bolster built up again, two color vinyl, with CRX logo stiched below the headrest for $200 each. I've heard people have got them done for $150 each. But every where is different, but I don't think I'd pay more than 200. There are several things to consider in the cost though, number of colors, type of material etc.

you have a few options. those burn doctor guys can be pretty good if you find one with experience. otherwise they usually make it look worse.
or you can dismantle the seat and cut the hog rings out and get a newer/better shape cover and slip it on and rering it. you use hog rings-technical name for them-to do this and a special plier is needed to fasten them. most dealerships have tehm in stock n bulk since seat back (side impact) air bags are tethered to the seat using these same ring clips.

How well looking and feeling was the seat after the bolster was built back up? I've had a few shops tell me they can't (more like don't want) to do it, and then some wanted an outrageous price or said that I'd have to buy new foam.

This place did a great job. They just built it back up with foam they had. That doesn't make sense why the places you've checked don't want to, after all, they use foam constantly in so much stuff they redo. Almost sounds like they don't do much auto reupholstering.

I just bought some 90-91's from El Vap but I think I might just reupholster my 88-89's anyway. I have a place that does good work/cheap...kinda rare these days. They said they'd do both with vinyl/alcantera/cloth or combo for $250 out the door.
