Default Uberdata - Willem Chip Burner Probs, chip Burns fine, but won't work, please help.

I just got my prelude boosted, and I get a solid CEL with a basemap I burnt on my enhanced willem burner, so I put in a normal "jun" chip, and the CEL went away, so I don't think the ecu is fried, but that my willem isnt burning the chip right. I have all of the settings correct on the programer, and it verifys the chip (a29c256), and I load the bin, and it says the chip is programed, but I cant get it to work, and I followed the burning steps from the boostedhybrids writeup, and nothing, and i have tried many different chips, and nothing ( and yes, i insert them the right way), so if anybody could please help me that would rock, my car has been down forever, and i want to get it running, thanks

Also, I have posted on the Uberdata site, and the willem site, and have had no responses for 3 days so, i figured i would get some help here, so please don't tell me to go to the uber forum, because it's dead, thanks guys.

here is my setup

0bd2-Obd1 harness
Obd1 P72

Have you asked someone else to make you a map with Uberdata and try theres. Maybe your making some kind of fatal error and the ECU just doesn't like it. IF the JUN chip works that you burned then its not the burner

Thats the thing, the JUN chip, vame with the ecu, so I dont even know if the burner is working right, even thought it says that the chip gets programed ok.

i had the same exact problem with verison 1.7beta which someone sent me here on HT. so matter what i did it just ran off the stock program and gave a solid CEL. i went back to 1.66 and it works fine now.

I've seen something like this before... What I found is when you "save" your new Uberdata calibration in 1.7 you need to use the "save as" function and change the name.

For some reason while I was tuning my own car I got this solid cell and I tried buring the chip 3 times.... did the "save as" and changed the name and it worked like a charm.

What basemap are you using? Also, what is the code for the CEL? Are you using Version 1.7 or 1.66? If you're using 1.7 try 1.66 out - it's more stable and could give you better results.

he sais he's using the enhanced willem. u dont physically need to jump the pins, just set the DIP switches and the jumpers right.

I have tried using Uberdata 1.66 and 1.7, and I have tried different programs for the programer, and I have posted on the Willem forum AND the Uberdata forum, and I havn't got anywhere with their help, but what I am wondering now, Is there some setting in uberdata that will give me the solid cel, because i am running out of ideas on why this isn't working, I have been tring for hours to get it working and nothing, and they said the burner is good, and i have tried like 10 different chips, and nothing, so if anybody else has any tips, please post it, cause i am dying here trung to get this going, thanks

Also, when I read the chip after burning it, The info IS on there, so do you think it could be something with the uberdata bin itself that could be causing this? Am I missing something really obvious? thanks

let me make sure this is all clear

1.) are you using a KNOWN good cable-- meaning someone else has used it to burn chips, not just for regular computer use
2.) are you verifying what is on the chips (when they are read) exactly matches what you write?

1) Yes, I am using a good cable, It was brand new with the burner.
2) I am verifying the chips, before and after writing them, and the data IS on there after I burn them.

Thanks

start completely over with a stock rom then adjust for injectors, boost efficiency, etc.

sometimes, i burn chips that wont start the car, i just go back to stock, redo it, fires right up

Ok, I am getting nowhere whith this damn thing, I can't figure it out! So here is what I'm thinking; Since this ecu was used for Hondata and I am using Uberdata, and the chip that came with it work, but my chips don't do you guys think that somehting having to do with the resistors or something that hondata uses when they socket an ecu would prevent it from reading any other chip, because this is the only thing I can think of now, because the chip does get burn, and I am almost positive the ecu is good, and this is the only conclusion I have, so If you guys could help me out some more that would rock, thanks

I had the exact same problem. I removed and then resoilered in all the parts for Uberdata (the chip and resistors) and it solved my problem. You prolly dont have a good connection somewhere.

Ok, here is what I just tried. I took the JUN chip that doesn't give a solid CEL, and I copied the chip and burnt it to a new blank chip, and it burnt sucessfull, and I went to try it, and it DOESN'T work, so at this point I think it has to be the burner, what do you guys think?
