Default Wheel Info - Add yours (no bling)

Figured I start this since I've been shopping again. I was looking for a variety of wheels. 16s for the street, 13s for Autocross, and 15s for the track (road course). Since i'm a budget racer, $150/ea wheels were not in my sight. Also, they are ALL 4x100 lug pattern... 5 lugs on a CRX is a waste and becomes a pain to find wheels. Without further adue:

I ended up with the Bronze Konig Heliums and got them for DiscountTire at $95/ea. They were originally $111?/ea. The extra half-inch wasn't worth the extra 2+lbs on average to me.
There are several other choices, Koseis come to mind, that i didn't look up during my initial search due to cost and value. Kosei has a 15x7 in around 12lbs, but for $130+/ea. The 15x6.5 Konigs at 11.5lbs is a-okay for me.

Edit: No damn preview...

I feel ya. Hey thanks for posting all that wheel info. Seeing how you listed Goodwin, you've done your homework on lightweight wheels. I think you made a good decision on wheels, but did you also get hubcentric rings with the deal?

My previous track setup was 15x6.5 Rota Slipstreams with 205/50 tires, which held up nicely. Since that setup is long gone, I've splurged on stronger, lighter, wider wheels with 225/45/15 Kumho Ecstas and am very happy with the setup. For reference, this is on my Miata and not Civic (not tested for fender/suspension clearance yet, fitment is fine).

Which tires you plan on running on the 15s? And are you going with the Diamonds for 13s? I will most likely go for 13s for next season on my 86 Si.

My opinion on the 16s: skip it. I had a phase where "bigger = better looks" was my motto, but nowadays dig the look of 15s with minimal fender gap on CRX/Civics. I would go for another set of those 15s you got, slap on some new Azenis and have at it. In that case, this could also be your spare set of rains for the autocross or track. What ya think?

Nope. I've had (and heard) bad experiences with hubcentric rings... most are plastic and become brittle or insanely difficult to remove from the hub.
So, I run without them. Properly torqued lugs haven't failed me yet!

I've thought about this and will most likely try it on the next set of wheels i'm most likely going to purchase. It'll probably be a 15x7 set and the current Konig Heliums will be used as a street set.

205/50-15 Kumho Victoracers. The Victoracers seem to handle heat better than the Ecstas and since I'll be using them as a primary track tyre...

Yep. already got them, they have 235/45-13 Kumho Ecsta v700s. They work rather well. I got them with the 5.5" backspacing to ensure it clears the suspension. They look ridiculous on the car though, but, who cares... they work fabulous!

Well, i have a set laying around that i purchased to run 12" brakes. Now, I've swapped out the 12" brakes for the stock 9.5" brakes. I may go to 10.3"...which may eliminate the 13x9 wheel use, unfortunately. I'll have to research on this more though.

to recap, current:
Street - 16x7 Enkei RS5 - 17.7lbs - BFG G-force sports - 205/45-16
AutoX - 13x9 Diamonds - 15lbs - Kumho Ecsta V700s - 235/45-13
Track - 15x6.5 Konig Helium - 11.5lbs - Kumho Victoracer V700s - 205/50-15

Future:
Street - 15x6.5 Konig Helium - 11.5lbs - Falken Azenis Sports - 205/50-15
AutoX - same, unless won't fit over 10.3"
Track - 15x7 Konig Network - 13.4lbs - Kumho Ecsta V700s - 225/45-15

I thought CRXBart nailed it pretty good in the light racing wheels topic when he posted this.
