check engine light problem
something is going on with my computer setup...I have recently installed greddy e-manage, and it was working great, up until last weekend, I was just cruising part throttle, and my check engine light just popped out of nowere...I tried to give it gas but the car would sputter, slow down and not go. I got out, reset my ecu(neg battery cable), and the car ran good again, then 10 min later , again in part throttle mode it did the same thing. I called GODSPEED and told them what was going on, the y told mre they never had a problem with e-manages on accords, except for for an AUTOMATIC OBDII equipped cars, and some acuras TL 2.3( also f23a) OUCH!!!!I took it back to them...ITS BEEN 3 DAYS NOW!!! still no word...THEY say can can make it work, but will require an OBDII---OBDI swap....but today they told me that they are having a hard time finding a swappable ecu that would work with an ATOMATIC....this suck soooooo baaaad!!!!! they say it becomes unprofitable for them to spend so much time looking for a compatible ecu and recomended that I try looking up on internet, forums, etc...BUT WHERE?!!! the only other option for me to fix my running rich problem in my low-mid rpms is getting a fuel pressure regulator and setting it low to run a little leaner, and then just testing it on the road myself I NEED HELP U GUYS!!! DOES ANYONE KNOW OF SOMEONE WHOS BEEN SUCCESSEFUL TUNING AUTOMATIC OBDII ACCORD F23A?!!! I heard SAFC dont really do jack, for my car....and i'm not about to get a "custom burned chip" cuz thats just smoke anyways...how can someone claim they can just "burn u a chip" when even same cars with same mods will run differently!!!!! ( if only i had a stick shift )I NEED LOTS OF REAL HELP GUYS!!!!
actually i/ve been able to figure this out yesterday...apparently greddy manual does not call for hook up of vtech controller(vtm) for OBDII equipped cars, so I had to take it back to my guy, and after some serious research, which included looking up EVERY PIN AND ITS DESIGNATION on E-MANAGE I was able to hook it up correctly.... Just got it tuned on dyno today...NOOO PROBLEMS AT ALL...set up works great now...no check engine lights or any drivability issues. I was able to gain 3hp across the power band, and gained a ridiculos 15 hp on my VTECH switchover point which was lowered to 4100, YES 4100 RPM. I also advanced my cam 1.5 degrees...it seem to make most power with this set up. GUDE cam likes to make hp all the way to 7100 rpm, but my rev limit on auto accord is 6250, so by advancing the cam gear a bit I was able to shift the power curve just enough to reach my top hp potential....CAR RUNS GREAT NOW AND I WOULD RECCOMEND E_MANAGE TO ANYONE WITH THE SAME SET UP AS MINE. If anyone thinking about getting one and has a problem hooking it up right(since greddy has this "misprint" in its manual) I'll be able to help him out by walking him step by step thru the set up and where the correct wires have to go...I'm so freaking geeked I cant stop talking...E_MANAGE IS THE ****!!!!
anyways these are my current mods:GUDE ported head, throttle body, intake manifold, stage 2 cam,DC sports header,APEXi N-1 exhaust,AEM cold air, walbro fuel pump,.NEW install: skunk2 cam gear, greddy e-manage...(tuned by PAYN TECHNOLOGIES
