Advice please, before I waste some $$$
I am building my Auto-x car and I was contemplating adding strut tower braces. I have a 92 Civic Si. It already has the standard Koni/GC set up and I am working on installing the junkyard GSR rear swaybar. I am skeptical about the benefits of the STB's and wondering if anyone has any concrete evidence that they actually make a difference in lap times or if they just make the car "feel stiffer"?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

There is a laundry list of parts that will yield you better performance/$ then tie bars under STS rules (which I assume your car will be in). Also, don't waste your money on a GSR rear swaybar, it's about as thick as a #2 pencil.
theres a different "feel" (front end is more solid) in my CRX with a front upper strut bar. its as conclusive as frame locks i suppose. worth the $25 i spent for a used neuspeed to replace my stolen one i paid $80 for.

Thanks for the input. Yes, STS is my plan. I have $40.00 in the sway bar. It will do fine for now. I will have the Comptech sway bar/tie bar combo by next spring.

Yeah but you are probably running a pretty high spring rate which stresses the towers more. I doubt he will be running something as high as what you are.

I am betting that most of us run them but I doubt many of us spent a whole lot of money on them and it was one of the last items we purchased.
