Hey guys, I was curious if anyone ever had this problem before. I only have 24K mi. on my Apex N1 catback system & recently had to get the back of the muffler welded where it meets the axleback pipe. OK thats fixed & just yesterday I noticed a rattle under the car that sounded like a heat sheild but when I got under there looking around it wasn't what I thought. I banged on the resonator with my hand & now it sounds as if the thing is coming apart from the inside! I don't drive this car every day or in the rain nor do I live where salt is used in the winter. It stays it the garage most of the time away from moister. Any ideas? I'm thinking of getting something else thats stainless steel. But what sounds good?

Whats amazing is I bought a Forza Tuning full stainless C/B for the wife's 97 Civic & even with the 1.6 D motor it sounds like I dropped an H22 in the car when the baffle is removed. But sounds good & tame when I re-kork the muff. It only cost about 350 bucks!
Exact same thing happened to mine and yes, there is a metal piece that's hang from inside which making those noises.
Yup, time for a replacement but if salt is used in the winter time, I would suggest to put the stock exhaust back on in the winter time cause even with full SS cat-back, I am pretty sure the welding part would still be rusted if you drive in the winter (with salt on the road)
