Default Jacking car for a long time...suspension concerns...

Is it bad to raise a car and put the jackstands under the frame rather than on the suspension? I think I've heard that it's not good for the suspension....For how long can I leave it like that for it to be ok?

I always put the jack stands on the frame rails where they are supposed to go.

definitely put the jack stands under the frame rails. Your car will creek when you set it down again, but there's nothing bad about that...it's just readjusting to the weight.
