It's either going to be a ton of work or a ton of money, or more likely both. This would be a majorly difficult swap. Custom everything and very little room in that engine bay. You have been warned.

You need to get yourself a good welder and a metalworks shop.
There's nothing (and I mean nothing) made for this type of swap. You'll be making everything yourself.
Chances are if you had to ask this question it's not going to be possible.

hey i have an idea open the hatch and throw the engine in the back and presto!!!! you have an h22 in a first gen rex!!!!! or you could do it the micheal jackson way throw money at it trying to fix the problem and hope people stop laghing at you for forgetting your not in never never land anymore.
While very dificult It wouldn't be as impossible as the others are eluding to. The big problem is what happens once it's in there. The H22 is a very heavy engine which is going to make the car handle like crap. You can build up a B-series to have just as much power, be lighter weight, and much easier to swap in (Hasport makes adaptor mounts for a B-series swap into a first gen).
Another thought... Is the CRX an Si, HF, or DX? HF and DX are carbureted which means some serious retrofiting of FI components and wiring unless you plan on making the new engine carbureted. I'm currently helping a friend of mine with his '87 HF and We live just north of you in Corvallis/Albany area so if you need some help / pointers just drop me an email at louieb@crxownersclub.com.
