It's either going to be a ton of work or a ton of money, or more likely both. This would be a majorly difficult swap. Custom everything and very little room in that engine bay. You have been warned.

You need to get yourself a good welder and a metalworks shop.

There's nothing (and I mean nothing) made for this type of swap. You'll be making everything yourself.

Chances are if you had to ask this question it's not going to be possible.

Without major mods it wouldnt even fit in the tiny bay, the dinky SOHC thats stock is crammed in.

Turbo a SOHC, it'd be cheaper/easier fo' sho'!

And if you're going to go all out fabrication, might as well swap a k series

This swap is really not that hard into a 2nd gen. It would be a litte more difficult with a 1st gen. Check out my sig for pics of my H22 Crx.

he said he had a first gen, not a second gen and its not very often you come across a non-wrecked second gen at a good price.

While very dificult It wouldn't be as impossible as the others are eluding to. The big problem is what happens once it's in there. The H22 is a very heavy engine which is going to make the car handle like crap. You can build up a B-series to have just as much power, be lighter weight, and much easier to swap in (Hasport makes adaptor mounts for a B-series swap into a first gen).

Another thought... Is the CRX an Si, HF, or DX? HF and DX are carbureted which means some serious retrofiting of FI components and wiring unless you plan on making the new engine carbureted. I'm currently helping a friend of mine with his '87 HF and We live just north of you in Corvallis/Albany area so if you need some help / pointers just drop me an email at louieb@crxownersclub.com.
