Bent Valve?? 95 GSR
Here is my problem.
My car idle's low 500 - 600 and misfires on cyl 3, gets spark and gas. I did a compression check and all the numbers where less than 15 off, all in the 180 range Doesn't seem to bad for 99,000 mi.
What else can I check??
If it is a bent valve about how much $$ am I looking at if I have a shop fix?
Ive done about all the searching there Is to do so please dont tell me to search.
Thanks

your response is pointless.
doing a compression check does not tell much, i dont understand why people on here always talk about it like its the golden diagnostic test or something.
do a leak down test, and it will tell you exactly whats leaking or not sealing completely.
GOOD LUCK!!!

last month i misshifted and floated the valves on one of our gsr's...i ended up bending an intake and an exhaust valve on number 3...if you do the work yourself it wont cost too much..all in all i spent something like 200 for two valves, a headgasket and the labor to replace the valves at a local machine shop. if you get good prices on parts then you can save a lot more. i bought everything at acura and they ripped me a new ******* on prices. labor at the machine shop was only $30
