Well it started snowing here in Alaska already. About a month early than normal. So I need some winter tires on the 2000 TL Ive noticed just driving around on post. Snow is usually here until beginning of April. Should I get studs or stud-less tires? I hate the winter.

How much ice do you get? I think that would answer your question...lots of ice, get studded, otherwise I do just fine with a good set of snow tires in snow, and the newer snow tires have a compound that do bite somewhat into ice. Check out tirerack.com for more info.
