Default OBX intake manifold?

I need an intake manifold and was thinking about getting an OBX manifold but wanted to check with the prelude geniuses before I got it. Is it a descent buy if not what do u recommend

I am also considering a skunk 2 but its just a little more than I want to spend right now. Are the differences that drastic?

The OBX and most other intake manfold's are built more for a forced induction application, not NA.

save your money till you can afford quality parts - you get what you pay for in this industry - there's a reason the skunk cost more than the obx.

try searching obx and skunk2 mani's separately and see what people say about them.

you'll find that skunk2 wasn't exactly all it was hoped it would be after years of waiting, most people are disappointed with it

Just look at the shape of the thing. It screams volume not flow.

And OBX stuff is not what it was. Quality has improved tremendously.

oh. i thought that most people were happy with the manifold, the high end rpm gains are appearantly noticable from most reviews - but it seems the dissappoint comes with manifold constantly causing people to throw cel's.

pertaining to obx - i found this thread on the manifold - hope it helps the poster

I don't know about that, I guess I might be in the minority then. For ~$350, the Skunk2 intake manifold exceeded my expectations. It was a nice quality piece IMO, at least mine was. As far as performance, the car might lose some power down low, but my butt dyno says that it helps in the upper RPMs.

For the money, it's not a bad mod when you have other bolt-ons, internal mods or and/or turbo, etc. If you want to bolt it on a stock engine though, your money is probably best spent elsewhere.

obx is good stuff.....my friends got their headers on his CL, and they helped him a lot, nothing wrong with them. and my other friend has their intake manifold on his civic, no probs either. all they do is copy major brands products.

edelbrock makes an intake mani for the h22?

about the obx mani, i wasn't sure if this is one of their newer things, like the lsd, that actually has some quality to it. Plus its like 200 shipped, thats hella cheap. someones gotta try it

Yea i pre shot on that one they don't. I was just told to check them out and posted before i had the chance.

I think im gonna try the OBX it is cheep as crap and for the 5th gen sh that doesn't want to loose his ATTS it sounds good.

I was looking at the manifold and didnt see any places for sensors or vacum but maybe it was just me. Looked like some big time modifying to get everything hooked up to it.

good point, for some it doesn't matter much, but for others that need all the stock vaccum ports and such this would be a setback

no place for the EGR = a CEL on an OBDII car. CEL on an OBDII TypeSH = NO MORE ATTS ! there is no way around it. Either get a OBDI ECU and Hondata, or just give up now.

Someone could have been a guinea pig for $.99 + 25.00 shipping....that thing had no reserve.

it looks nice like most obx parts... but there quality sucks as we speak my obx turbo manifold is out of the car im going to have to reweld all the cracks... and 2 holes in the manifold.. to hold up for about 2 weeks lets hope the obx will last that long but i doubt it....... thats my experience ill have pics posted of the cracks when i get my car back together and have some time...
