ZC SWAP
yeah im a newbie but im doing a dohc zc swap onto my 91 hf, and was just wondering if anyone knows any sites for any guide onto installing it? this will be the first swap i did (DUURR) so alittle help would be great.... (and yes i did search all i found that came close was b16 and up)
my 90 crx si was dohc black top zc powered. Some sites will tell you that the dohc zc swap is like taking an a6 out and putting it right back in. Aside from the wiring change you need to make at the dizzy it was a really straightforward swap. My first actually everything went fine. I'm not sure about the 90-91 hf but what I can tell you is that what you need to research is what differences there may be with the engine harness. oh yeah and you'll need si hubs. Word of advice: if you're really going to do this swap PLEASE use d16a6 (Si) or Zc tranny. HF or DX trans is not a good idea you will be wasting your time. PM me if you have Q's about it.

dude my black top was fast...all i did was change the rings, bearings..i put it in my 88 dx...i went 14.8 on street tires..to date i have never seen a a6 hit a 14 anything...dont be discouraged...if you get everything done right..it'll be quick..its a good first motor plus its not as much **** to get into when compared to a b-series swap..for your first hybrid...Good luck.

Si trannys are rather easy to come by and very simple to install.

I would say 14.8 is VERY possible with a DOHCZC though, what elevation were you at?

They also do regrinds for $220 shipped last time I checked and turn around time is approx. 4 days.

Sounds to be like one of the equal axle length ZC trannies. You have the quickest out of the box D-Tranny there is but your top speed RPMs are going to kill. I would advise staying off the Turnpike for a while with the RPM numbers you'll be seeing
