im considering swapping an Si tranny for my tired gsr one and i was wondering if anyone else has done this mod? How do you like it? How much higher are your rpms in 5th gear say around 80mph? And how much quicker is your car? Thanks.

 

If anything,get a ITR tranny,even thow the si has shorter gears,i still think you would be downgrading the car.

b16 and ITR have same tranny (gear ratios) except ITR has LSD

the B16 is the poor man's ITR tranny. u can easily upgrade to a Kaaz or Quaife LSD tho.

I would like to know where the rpms are at when your going 80 on either an SI or ITR tranny. Let me know anyone
I need a new tranny too so I am thinking of getting an SI tranny if I can't get the Type R

 

i know a guy running a 1st gen b16 in a G2 integ...i forget what the tranny is...but he said he would cruise at about 5k @ 80 mph

 

thanks i think i will go for it. I debated the itr tranny but i dont have 1300+ to shell out. I can get the Si tranny and spend the rest on a good clutch and flywheel (my act is a pos).
5th gear 80mph with the stock tranny is 4k rpm, i think the type R is 4400 so the Si tranny should be the same?
