Default RSX Rim Question

Hey Everyone,

My friend has a 2004 RSX non Type S and after a hit and run accident it was taken to a body shop. They had to replace one of the rims and the one they replaced has a real glossy smooth finish on it. All of the other three rims have a textured finish on them. Would anybody be able to tell me what happened? I was thinking that maybe type S's were glossy and non type S's wernt? I dunno much bout the RSX's. Thanks alot in advance

I had the same thing happen to me. However, it wasn't as shiny as what you described I guessed, but similar. I had my wheel taken to a wheel repair shop under insurance. Are you sure they "replaced" your friend's rim or did they just take it to a wheel shop to repair? It is likely that the wheel shop powder coated the rims, and from what I've heard, that would look a little plastic-ky and shiny.

Nothing you can do about it tho, and i doubt you want to complain. If I were you perhaps you should just powder coat all 4 rims gunmetal or charcoal.

I was thinking the wheels I got from the trade were even shinier than my original ones were. </TD></TR></TABLE>

If this happened, then Acura would have switched part numbers. The old part number will still be available, too.

i noticed on the glossy rim there is a enkei logo on one of the spokes and no logo on the other. i had an early production 02 rsx with the glossy rims and a later production rsx without.
