Default Toda Headgasket

Sup guys, i was thinkin of running a toda 1-layer headgasket on my lsvtec setup with gsr head. I'm also running toda b cams and i was wondering if i would be safe with a 1 layer headgasket and how much cam tuning i'd have without running into any trouble.

i think their headgakets are only to be used when running their pistons. do they even have a one layer? i remeber going to their site and seeing that their headgaskets would decrease compresssion, not raise it.

from the site: "With ever improving tuning technology, the pressure increases found in the combustion chamber can become a problem. Improved gas sealing is a high priority when increasing the power output of any engine. Should be used with TODA forged pistons. The 0.6mm gaskets are the same thickness as stock and do not affect the compression ratio, but the 0.8mm and 1.0mm gaskets lower the compression ratio"

mugen headgasket works for me. cheaper than toda. also i heard but havent tried...removing middle layer from a stock headgasket is the same **** as mugen

This isn't true......the 0.6mm one is to stock specs and the other two will raise the compression. There is even a chart on this at inlinfour.com....here is the link to see it..http://www.inlinefour.com/todbservtecm.html

read Inline fours site again. it is an exact copy of todas site.

ONCE AGAIN, from Toda's site: With ever improving tuning technology, the pressure increases found in the combustion chamber can become a problem. Improved gas sealing is a high priority when increasing the power output of any engine. Should be used with TODA forged pistons. The 0.6mm gaskets are the same thickness as stock and do not affect the compression ratio, but the 0.8mm and 1.0mm gaskets LOWER the compression ratio.

the 0.6mm is stock spec, the nest two sizes are .8mm, them 1.0 mm

How is the thicker headgasket going to raise compression?

you can but....this is definetely an example of when you should clay for clearances. just for the sake of not being able to adjust cams more than a degree or so. depends also on what pistons, milled head? etc..a few factors involved. i know you wanna definite answer, but i wouldnt risk blowing my inve$tment just cause one guy said YES YOU DEF. CAN RUN THAT GASKET.
just play it safe
