i am going to buy a 92-95 civic ex coupe soon and i was wondering if the 94 and 95 ex coupes are the only ones with the vtec motor because the 92 and 93 civic exs dont say vtec on the head so i figure there not vtec, please leave something thanks

 

My 96 Ex doesnt have "VTEC" on the valve cover, or anywhere else for that matter. But it is still a VTEC engine.

the 126 hp d16z6 was a sohc vtec engines that came in that model civic and del sols. They did not say vtec on them but you can read the stamp in the block or see the vtec solenoid to the left of the valve cover.

Not all vtec models say vtec on the valve cover.
