Default sidemarker installation

Hey, im just about to cut into my fenders and i realized that rust might be an issue. has anyone done anything to coat the exposed metal where you cut? or is this not even an issue. thanks guys.

I wouldn't leave any metal exposed, paint it after you cut it. Primer should be enough, and it will be covered by the sidemarker anyway.

touch up paint..but when you put them in they might chip off so do it carefully

i did it on my civic. i didn't have any rust issues. i didn't use primer, or anything of that nature and i live in the rainy pacific NW.

Just give it a quick spray with some primer. A can of primer is like what....2-3 bucks? might as well to guarantee that it wont rust.
