alpine 9833 vs. 9835, is it really worth an extra hundred bucks?
i just want something better than my stock deck(if u wanna call it that,ha!), so i'm not sure if i should go all oout for the 9835 or 9833. i've read that there pretty much the same as far as SQ. is the 9835 worth the extra hundred dolars or should i just invest more money into the amp or other portion of the system?

They are the same sounds wise.
Alpine has been notorious for doing this.
They just add extra features but use the same base design on most of all their cd players except for their reference units.
save yourself $100 unless you really want the extra things.
Sound wise they will eb identical.
It's like paying $900 for a pinto or paying $1k for the pinto with new floor mats.
Same ****.
$100 could buy you an amp, which would lead to a better system then using the 9835 alone to run speakers!

I had to make the same decision. I decided to go with the 9833. The only thing I wish it had was more letters to name my cd's. My model only allows 8 characters, but the 35 has like 14 or something. Other than that, I love my deck!
