Default Lowering springs

I have a 6th gen 4dr accord and am going to lower it a bit. I wanted to know how low of a drop I would need in front and back and still keep it practical. I don't have a body kit or rims right now. I wanted to lower it before I got rims wanted to know if i should wait

how much you want to drop it is up to you... everyone has different preferences. my 6th gen is lowered 1.8/1.7, front and rear respectively. no issues of scraping anywhere. i have about a 1 inch gap front and rear now. personally, it's exactly where i want it, but i've had tons of people say i should lower it more. like i said, personal preferences...

i recommend installing new struts that are made for lowered cars (see Guide to Basic Accords) at the same you install the springs. otherwise the car will have a tendency to bounce and "float". not to mention that most aftermarket springs will kill the OEM struts failry quickly.

I went with H&R OE springs and Koni Yellows. Based on the perch locations, I have a nice drop, not excessive still have some gap and have a firmer ride, better handling and braking.

Like philadd said, it's all about personal preference. I'm on ground controls and I love them. I've got mine lowered about 2 in. in the back and about 1.75 in the front. I think it has the perfect stance, but I always get people telling me to drop it all the way. Camber= . Also, as far as "pratical" with a drop, it depends on what size, offset, etc. type of rims your planning on getting.

getting the rims first would be best, then have it dropped.

thanks for your help guys...i think i'll save this post, cause this afternoon i f***in totaled the front end. excuse the language but i'm a little bit angry. lets just say my estimated quote was 5k.

what happened if anyone cares, is this guy decided to cut me off as i'm getting off the highway but decides he doesn't want to exit so jams on his brakes. i jam on mine but slide into his rear. mini van mind you. so his muffles punchs a clean hole thorugh my plate and bumper. needless to say no airbags went off becasue his bumper hit my hood and pushed my radiator fan ac etc. all the way up. so maybe if i lower it enough next time. the muffler will just go through my window.

i'll be back when i get my car back, until then i'm clinically depressed.

PS. i need to find a way to get to school everday so if anyone can give me a lift my schedule is MWF 11-12 and tues and thurs 9-3 thanks

roll what fender? with prokit you still have 2 finger of gap in the rear and 2.5 finger in front. you don't need to roll fender for that.

again, dont pull stuff out of your ****, there's no kyb agx for 6th gen accord

funtion...hmmm... hang on, let me go look that one up in the dictionary.

Drop first, then wheels. I did my drop and actually like the way the OEM EX wheels look with the drop. I still plan on buying a set of 17s.

Buying the bigger wheels first makes the whole thing look bad, bigger wheels and tires showing in that ugly gap that Accords are born with. Nasty...

sorry to hear abour your car, hope it gets fixed soon...

If/when you decide to lower your car, I recommend tokico illumina strut/coilover combo. its a good kit and pretty good price ~$500

yeah about the whole insurance thing...I didn't put collision on it because as you guys know at 18, insurance is expensive enough. i reasoned that the money i saved on NOT having collision would give me some extra cash for mods and IF an accident happened i'd be able to fix it. I looked around and am getting it done for 4000 (aside from the 800 i'm paying the guy i hit to not report it cause otherwise my insurance will like double) so its going to be about 5g's. you live and learn i guess. thanks for your advice guys
