Default IS this legal?

A friend of mine is thinking to sell or trade his 98' CRV back to the dealer, and my question is this:
I am thinking to keep his CRV bottom end, and since All B series motor are interchangable. I am going to swap my B18B1 bottom end exchange with his CRV bottom end then trade it in.

IS this legal for not informed them and trade it as a stock CRV?
I know they might find out, well what would they do about that? Does this going to effect on the price for trade(only when they find out)? Am i going to get into Deep S H I T when they found out or ??

Thanks

so basically you want to make it the CRV and B18b1 since the heads are the same.. im pretty sure that they would have a problem with that and your friend would probably get in trouble for selling something that its not what it seems to be....

Hmmmmm.. Depends if they ask anything along the lines of "has it had any work done to it" and you say no...thats misrepresentation.

If they are smart they will look around...and AFAIK swapping out the bottom end leaves alot of clues...

ok...you're nickling and diming about a clutch kit from another company, but you're trying to sell a car to the dealer, who even if they don't find out about it, the next owner will lose out?

especially wrong if the block from your teg is older than the CRV.

Woo man.. it was just a question man.. besides my friend is cool to exchange his bottom end with me.. either he sales the car or not. He has a bone 98' stock CRV and mine is a 00' GS. so should be fine.

that's IF they are smart enough to check the vins. most of the honda dealerships around here are too stupid to consider an engine swap from a CRV. I'd honestly do the swap myself, just because the worst thing they can do is say no. but then if your friend needs to sell the car ASAP your gonna have to re-swap it back and waste a lot of time on both cars.

well if you can sleep at night.. go ahead.

It's probably not illegal if he owns the car outright, but then again... imagine your the next buyer of his crv and you have no clue... something happpens and the people come up to you and say.. sorry we can't cover this under warrenty, sicne you swapped out the bottom end... and you being the family guy with 2 kids in the car perhaps can't afford to fix it.. then your fucked....

not to be pissy, but go buy the damn bottom end.. dont be so damn cheap.. besides a crvtec isnt gonna give you mad power yo!

christ.. what are people thinking these days...

WTF - its like asking if fraud is legal - so what if they don't check - what about the person that buys the CRV (if the dealer doesn't find out) WTF IMO you need to get a life - this is ALMOST no different than posting that you bought stolen ITR parts - **** is fawked up man what goes around comes around pal - no dealer will willingly take a CRV with a 1.8 bottom end

What's the benefit of swapping the bottom ends? Is the bigger bottom end more just more powerful?
