Default hesitation after putting head back on

i just recently got my head back on the car, it has been sittin for about a month. the car runs fine sometimes and at random times the motor will hesitate and not let me rev. at times it will do it at 1500rpms and other times at different rpms.

i still have a bit of the month old gas in the tank so im not sure if it is because of condensation. also, its running very rich at some points. my valves are adjusted and timing is set dead on. are my injectors bad?

EDIT: my tach also jumps rpms, when i was cruisin in fifth gear today, my tach was jumping from 35-4200rpms. its not fluctuating, its literally jumps from 3500 to like 4000rpms. i dunno wtf is up, its really pissing me off

UPDATE: i changed my fuel filter and no change at all.. there goes 20bucks down the drain

The accumulation of condensation in your fuel lines and other areas is the likely cause of the hesitation you experience. Pull your plugs out and check if they are fouled. Also, try running a compression test to make sure nothing else is wrong, since a bad compression reading would indicate many problems.

If it is condensation in your fuel lines, there are many over the counter solutions for you available at most auto stores. Although, I would recommend, ISOHeet products as they've been proved to work (including my own experience).

You can also try running some injector fuel cleaner. I personally use Chevron Techron concentrate. The Valvoline one works excellent too.

Pull your plugs first. Then we'll see from there.

Make sure they are gapped to 1.3mm (if you have a gsr motor)

Healthy plugs are brown in color.

I assume that the motor is not actually jumping 500 RPM with the tach. You may have a bad distributor, resulting in an erratic tachometer signal and your other symptoms.

Do you have a check engine like on? Have you double checked all your wiring ect. ?

Yeah that's definitely an electrical problem, because your RPM cannot change unless the speed changes also when the car is in gear.

so my distributor might be bad? which wires are the ones for the tach? im pretty sure i hooked everything up. i do remember a gray fluid coming out of the dizzy when i was puttin it on. anyone know what it is?

so what are the chances of it being related to my hesitation/stuttering?
