Guys, I have an S2000 HID kit that someone gave to me when I bought their car, and I dont know what type of fitting the bulb is. I know the S2000's come stock w/ HID's but it looks as though the base of the bulb (which is a D2S) would fit into an H1 fitting.

The reason I am asking is that I have a WRX, and some STI EMD Projectors, and I am thinking of putting the S2000 HID kit in there instead of buying a new one if I can.

you are right, the stock s2000 bulbs are D2S, but those bulbs wont fit into an H1 housing. You need a retrofit kit that has the bulb mounted on a H1 base and is spaced properly so you reduce glare and getter a better beam pattern even though your H1 housing isn't meant for HID bulbs. If you have projectors, use the D2S retrofit kit, if you're running a reflective type housing, use the D2R retrofit kit.

 

Well, here is the thing..

I just got a WRX, and I bought the EDM projectors for it. I could have sworn that the capsule had an H1 base..i compared it to my H1 bulbs from my civic and it looks spot on.
