Default Bass with no Sub??

So right now I have a pretty simple set-up...my speakers amped with a 12inch sub and 500w 4 channel rockford amp, all in an dc2

However I am looking to get rid of the sub completely upgrade to better speakers and if need upgrade the amp

My question is really which speakers would be the best to create clear sound quality but also prove thump (i don't expect to get what my 12 pushes)

Right now I was thinking then

- Infinity 63.5I 3 ways for my front door
- Infintiy 692.5I 2 way for the rear (these re 6x9 so it will take alittle effore to get them mounted right but I am hoping it will sound better in the end)
- Or I was thinking of getting the Kicker RMB6 but I don;t think that will give me the sound quality, but it would provide thump

suggestions?

Bass from a small driver usually means high excursion whereas SQ in the midrange usually has limited excursion. The 2 generally dont go well together. i would ditch the rears all together, get the infinity components if you like the sound then look for a 6" sub like the kicker and mount that in the door. I'd put the component set in a pair of fiberglass kicks. The idea is to keep as much of the sound and frequency range up front.

in my DC4 i used, Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 components in the front. (you'll need to cut out the grill on the plastic spacer behind the stock speakers to make them fit) i mounted the crossovers in the trunk w/ the amp. (4channel)
They sound tight! even without being enclosed or using a sound deadoning kit. i also cut out 6x9 patterns and bolted infinity 3way 6x9 on the removable deck lid. i left the stock rears in/disconnected. and im pushing 500 watts on (2) 10" ers in a dual bandpass with a plexi front. 950watts total (max) and still loven the clarity , even without the deadoning material.
