13.2 gallon fuel fillup!
Thats with there being some space between the needle and (below) the red hash mark indicating Empty!
384 indicated miles on my EXPO'd 032Rs (205/50/15 ... winter tires? ... not with this weather).
Anyone put more gas in their car (97 R in my case) ?

That was basicly city driving (4-4.5 mile commute to/from work, morning and evening).
I didn't even figure milage.
Ed -- who usually slows to 80 (mph) ... to save gas.

i onced autoxed with very little gas (the idiot light had been on for some time prior to the race). the car coughed and hesitated around a left hand sweeper; needless to say this was not my best run! i went to the gas station and got about 12 gal.

Just wanted to let ya'll know that the needle goes below empty, and that you still have 2-3 gal. of fuel when the light comes on.
Now about that autocrossing ... hehe

I look into my crystal ball and see......... Future postings of "Why did my fuel pump die?"
1) Seems ITR pumps (GSR ...) known to diminish in performance once in the 75-80 K mile range, anyway.
2) I've already upgraded the pump, FPR and had RC balance the injectors as part of my 85K mile maintenance in June (just turned 99K miles yesterday).
3) I used to do this all the time on my 87 CRX Si, and that stock pump lasted as long as the motor (273K).
That being said, anything's possible and I'll probably drop in a Bosch pump in a couple years.
Damn! You guys must fill it all the way up to the filler neck!
I literally RAN OUT OF GAS (can't get more empty than that) and only put in 12.8 gallons. And that's not vapor-return shut off - that's fuel spillage!

good god Ed.. 13.2? lowest i've gone is a 10.3 fillup, and the light was on.. but i knew i could go further (didn't think quite that far though)
ITR 98-0652: I fill it until the pump shuts off automatically

Wow, I ran out once and it only took 11.9 when I filled it up. I have an aftermarket fuel pump though and I think the pickup is shorter than the stock one.
yeah, i'm not going to push my walbro 255lph much further than the light staying on
Oooooo, ever make you think that the gas stations are ripping you off?
How can you get more empty than RUNNING OUT OF GAS??? And still less than 13.2?

Damn for some odd reason I've never filled my 00 ITR more than 10 gallons...always 9.something and I always seem to get about 250-270 miles
In addition to damaging the fuel pump by running the tank dry( no lubrication for the pump), you could possibly damage you charcoal canister as well. The canister is made to trap vapors. When you fill you tank up to the top of the filler neck, the canister is no longer able to catch vapors. Now it saturates with fuel. Just a thought if you live a state where they stick thier noses up your tailpipes.
is it technically possible that the car will run on GAS FUMES?
i was driving home late night on the freeway(1 hr drive back home) i felt the car losing power than i suddenly noticed i was out of fuel! i shifted to neutral and rolled the rest of way to the off ramp. next i attempted to start the car, the car started and took me the rest the way to the gas station less than 1/2 mile away.
was i running on gas fumes or there was probably a few drops of gasoline left in the tank that the pump can suck up?
when i pumped gas it indicated i filled 13.2xx gallons.
what ever the pump ran on i was lucky.
