I wrecked my '94 Accord
I have a 2 door '94 Accord with 150K miles on it. I have taken great care of it, and was about to sell it and get a new one. But unfortunately I ran it underneath the back of an SUV yesterday at a stop light. I wasn't going very fast, but fast enough. As far as I can tell, it needs a new hood, radiator, front bumper, a couple lights and one fender. But didn't damage anything else behind the radiator.
I am trying to weigh my options. I haven't turned it into the insurance yet. The SUV had no damage. I am wondering if I were to just sell the car as is, what (or where) would be the best place to do that. I mean I think I could get a couple grand out of it if I sold it the right way.
Any suggestions?

the body parts i would get off of ebay or import auto salvage, lights u can get off ebay hella cheap, radiator isnt too much, u could get it pretty close back to how it should look with a little body work/paint from maaco and get a lot more money from it selling it after repairing it, or you can part it out, but u'll get dick for selling it as a whole as is
I see 94 Accord in running condition going for $2000-$2500. I think you might be able to get a few hundred dollars for it in the damaged state.
Good luck.

thats pretty low, spankey just sold his 92 accord lx (some mods like rear disc brake swap but nothing else major) for $3000, i'd say in very good condition it would be closer to 3500-4000
Good luck.

Turn it into insurance. They will most likely total it and give you some cash. I wrecked my 94 2 years ago with 150k and they gave me 6900. I bought for 7g's only too. Then recently my 98 got t-boned and they gave me 6700 as well.

thanks for all the great help.
I am still contemplating all of this. Question though, the Trade in value (KBB) is 2,250 and the Retail Vale is 5,500. So what is a good estimate of what the insurance would give me? My agent is no help. They can't even predict. I mean if they only give me bottom dollar, say 2,250 then I don't think it is even worth claiming because I have a clean record and it would then have an "at fault" on there for 5 years due to claiming a 10 year old car for only 2k. Not smart. It seems like around here they are going for @4k
I am pricing stuff together now, looks like I can get a hood for @ $100 and a radiator for @ $80. The Maaco suggestion is a good idea too.

Oh, another question.
When I ran it into the back of the suv, I was almost at a complete stop and I don't know if my foot slipped onto the accelerator, or what, but I just remember trying to reach for the brake. After the accident my throttle was wide open. What would cause this, and have you heard of this happening before? I even turned it back on later for 1 second, and noticed the idle was still high. Then shut if off real quick sense the radiator was cracked wide open.
