Default ignition timing on decked block

i have a block thats decked a small amount, which from the looks of tuning requires a cam gear advance of approx 4 degrees on intake and exhaust.

i had skunk2 stage1 cams in the car and adjusted my timing to somewhere around 12 degrees ignition timing. this let it run without pinging/knocking on pump gas.

now i did not touch my cam gear adjustment, and i swapped some skunk2 stage2 cams in today. now i cannot get my timing below 14 degrees. this is causing knocking and pinging on WOT accel on pump gas, and its retarded as far as the slot allows on the distributor. now i need to retard my ignition timing another 2-4 degrees and i dont wanna move my cam timing to get it where i need it. now i know i can slot my distributor, but will i be able to slot it enough to get what i need? and what else can i do to pull more timing out of this motor

thanks!

from endyn's site:
"
Q:If I mill my cylinder head how many degrees should I advance my cam gears?
A:Every 12 thou takin off the head advance the cam gear 1 degree.

I dont think theres a easy fix for this problem other than running better gas. Is the car tuned yet??? If not I wouldnt be open throttle at all if its pinging. Can you add more fuel? Without getting into the computer with uberdata or something to pull out timing at certain rpms I dont really see a easy fix besides tuning.
